We would like to see email notifications occur when the SmarterWX Locate Feature Service goes down. We would also like to be able to log into the SmarterWX Locate Health dashboard and see the health status of our own organisations SmarterWX Locate feature service. Currenlty our GIS analysts and end users are reporting back to ICT when they notice that the service is down. ICT would like to know before the users whether there is an issue and also be able to report on an ETA for when the serivce will be restored. The Serivce is a critical safety component of our business so the GIS team wish to provide a quality SLA.
Hi Nick, thank you for your feedback and enhancement idea. There was a brief outage impacting the SmarterWX Locate API last week. We understand the importance of this service to your workflow, so the team have already made improvements to ensure service stability. Our priority for now is on understanding the cause of the issue and on preventing further outages. There is a SmarterWX dashboard for subscribers to monitor the service status. It also provides historical performance metrics, and uptime has been 100% in recent months.
